Cașcaval de Ibănești

In a world where cheese production surpasses that of coffee beans, “cașcavalul” has certainly secured its special place. Currently, more than 2,000 types of “cașcaval” are known worldwide. That’s because every community with a tradition of “cașcaval” production has its own specific recipes. “Cașcaval de Ibănești” is no exception.

“Cașcaval de Ibănești” is cheesy, boasts a unique flavor (largely due to the Orșova brine taste, but primarily from the milk it’s made of), and an amazing texture that is convincing from the first bite. We’ve opted to create a cheese with a rare complexity of flavors that combines the freshness of mountain water, the subtle aromas of herbs growing freely in the meadows, and the delicate scent of fresh milk. You can do anything with it: Put it on a slice of fresh bread, spread it generously with our regular butter, and bake it in the oven for no more than 2 minutes, or, why not, grate it over a slice of pizza. It will win you over regardless of how you consume it.

You can find it in round pieces of 180, 250, or 500 grams, but also in square pieces of 250, 400, or 1,000 grams, perfect for slicing and topping bread. If you run a catering business, you can, of course, also purchase the cheese in bulk packs of 1.7 kg of veal.
